A 21-year-old man has been charged with murdering a north London cafe owner who was attacked in front of his customers.

The Met Police said Barangu Gulbudak, of Aspen Way, Enfield, will appear at Highbury Corner Magistrates’ Court later.

Police have not yet named the 48-year-old owner of the Efes Cafe on Kilburn High Road who died following the attack at 19:00 BST on Tuesday.

Customers in the cafe at the time tried to fight off the attacker.

The cafe owner was taken to hospital but later died, police said.

The Met said the victim’s family “were aware” but a formal identification had not taken place.

A post-mortem examination is due to be carried out later.
