Rarely seen footage of George V and Queen Mary on a visit to Liverpool in 1913 has been released.
They were accompanied by their eldest son – who later became Edward VIII before abdicating in 1936 – as they inspected a parade outside the city’s St George’s Hall a year before the onset of World War One.
The royals are also seen meeting dignitaries on board a ship docked at the port.
The film is part of a programme called “Wirral on film” being held at The Gladstone Theatre in Port Sunlight 19:30.
